I guess he'll stay at Fulham and try and improve on those four goals (of which two were in August).

As an international specialist, I expect him to bag another six in the coming qualifiers, mostly against San Marino. The bigger boys won't underestimate us as Sweden and Spain did.

Agreed McAuley is a solid D2 stopper. Ipswich are a solid D2 play off chaser...

Linfield's goalscoring postman is Peter Thompson, not Robinson. Not English D2 standard I fear. I hope Mannus moves though, he'll probably be the regular keeper when Schneider retires. No point relying on the Fermanagh fumbler Carroll.

Give us a shout if ye fancy a beer sometime- Rhyl in the Intertoto maybe?

Bostin

DGAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1568703413543689563.post-38221749208761543272008-06-04T09:18:00.000+01:002008-06-04T09:18:00.000+01:00Healy's a bit of a phenomenon, given how he's fail...Healy's a bit of a phenomenon, given how he's failed to reproduce his international form at club level - in that respect he's almost the reverse Ian Wright. He's only really had two good seasons at club level, and he's 28 by the time the season starts, there are much better options out there. That said, it's all gone quiet, and all the talk is now about Emile Mpenza, who would have been a good signing six years ago.

McAuley a steady centre-half at Championship level, and nothing more to be honest. Not worth the nine month chase we've had so far, nor the reputed £1.75million price tag.

I can't help feeling that Magilton wouldn't look twice at these guys if they weren't his mates from his playing days, to be honest.

Mannus and Robinson, both play for Linfield. Mannus in goal, Robinson up front. All the others play for the Republic - or in truth the 'B' side, if they were that good, they'd be at Sunderland.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12883737117793801402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1568703413543689563.post-39628321291021100972008-06-04T07:06:00.000+01:002008-06-04T07:06:00.000+01:00Do Healy and McAuley really count as mediocre comp...Do Healy and McAuley really count as mediocre compared with Ipswich's current squad and rivals?

OK, Healy's a fringe Prem player now with only four goals last season, but he looks likely to overtake Mikey Owain next season and maybe Lineker and Charlton after WC 2010.

While Big G and Aussie Kisnorbo were one of the meanest defences in D2. Even if their forwards couldn't score at the other end.

PS never heard of some of the others ye mentioned, although I remember Colgan in Chelsea's stiffs more than 15 years ago.

A chara,

DGAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
